Q. Can my athlete get evaluated for a roster spot before September tryouts? June 29, 2026
A. Yes. We actively scout and recruit talent through our Sunday Evening Summer Open Gyms. Sessions are $20 per hour, plus a one-time $20 evaluation fee. During the session, our Club Directors and master coaching staff will conduct an on-court evaluation of your athlete's skill level, training intent, and coachability. If we identify them as a strong positional and cultural fit for one of our rosters, we will extend an official invitation immediately—allowing you to secure your spot and bypass the mid-September open tryout process entirely.
Spaces are strictly limited to maintain high repetitions. To reserve your athlete's evaluation spot, please email us at info@x2volleyball.com.
Q. Who founded X2 Volleyball, and how long have you been operating? June 29, 2026
A. X2 Volleyball was founded in 2022 by Club Directors Leo Fahey and Rachael Landry. The 2026–2027 club calendar marks our 5th official season of delivering high-performance training to athletes across the region.
Q. Where are your practices held? June 29, 2026
A. All X2 Volleyball team practices and training labs are held exclusively at our home facility: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St, Holden, MA.
Q. What is the status of the net system at Immanuel Lutheran? June 29, 2026
A. We are thrilled to announce that we are upgrading our home base with a brand-new, state-of-the-art net system!!!. This will be fully installed between late July and early August 2026, just in time for the new season.
Q. How many teams will X2 field for the 2026–2027 season? June 29, 2026
A. To maintain our strict standards of quality and direct director oversight, we are fielding an optimized lineup of 8 total teams:
- 7 Select Teams (Ages 13–18)
- 1 X2 Foundation 12 Team (Age 12)
Q. What exactly is a "Select Team" at X2? June 29, 2026
A. At X2, "Select" is an operational tier designed for dedicated athletes looking to prepare for high school, varsity, and college-level play. It requires a 6-month commitment and includes:
- Intensive 12-session Pre-Season Training Lab (November/December)
- Two team practices per week (January–April)
- Rigorous 15-day regional tournament schedule
Q. Why are they called "Select" teams? June 29, 2026
A. Roster spots at X2 are earned, not bought. Our hybrid roster process means roughly half of our Select positions were pre-selected prior to the September tryouts based on returning athletes' proven training habits and growth mindsets. We then hold highly selective open tryouts in mid-September to fill only the remaining vacancies with the best available talent.
Q. Why is the 12U team called "X2 Foundation 12"? June 29, 2026
A. At 12 years old, athletes need high purity over high volume or massive travel. We named this team "Foundation" because its sole purpose is to build a flawless technical and mechanical baseline. Guided by youth development science, they practice once a week and play a compressed local tournament schedule to serve as our specialized pipeline for the Select program.
Q. Why do you cap rosters at 10 or 11 players? June 29, 2026
A. Most clubs carry 12 to 14 players to pad their budgets, leaving athletes on the sidelines. We strictly cap our rosters at 10 players generally, with an absolute maximum of 11. Smaller rosters mean double the reps in our fast-paced practices and guaranteed, meaningful playtime at tournaments. We invest resources in athletes who are here to develop, not sit on a bench.
Q. What is Hudl, and why do Select Teams use it? June 29, 2026
A. We use video analysis technology to accelerate player development, which is fully integrated into Select Team tuition. All Select matches are recorded and analyzed using Hudl software:
- For Players: Athletes log into private app accounts to watch film directly from their phones, turning match video into an objective tool for rapid growth.
- For Recruitment: For older athletes, Hudl is the industry standard for creating and sharing professional highlight reels with college scouts.
Q. Why do your practices look "messier" than traditional drills? June 29, 2026
A. Traditional "block" training (standing in lines, hitting a ball tossed by a coach) looks clean but fails in real matches. We utilize Random and Variable Training—fast-paced, game-like scenarios that force players to read, react, and solve real volleyball problems under pressure. This approach develops superior long-term motor skill retention and game intelligence.
Q. Can we set up auto-draft for our monthly payments? June 29, 2026
A. Our system automatically emails monthly invoices on the 1st of each month, but our platform does not have an automatic credit card pull feature. Parents are responsible for manually opening the secure invoice link and submitting payment via credit card, check, or cash within 5 business days to keep their athlete's court privileges active.
Q. Do you offer financial scholarships or player discounts? June 29, 2026
A. Unlike other clubs that secretly reduce or waive fees for their top players to recruit talent—creating an unfair, secretive environment—X2 opererates such that every family pays the exact same tuition for the exact same resources, court time, and coaching. We do not use your tuition dollars to subsidize someone else’s child.
- Multi-Athlete Family Exception: We offer a 20% sibling discount on tuition for the second child if you have two or more athletes training on our teams.
